In This Way We Bind Them
Four authors. Four forgotten towns. Four tales you were never meant to hear. This handcrafted horror zine invites you to the shadowy edges of the map, where the trees whisper, the locals avoid eye contact, and the rituals never really stopped.
From cursed woods to quiet swamp lands, each story offers a chilling glimpse into the folklore that binds its town, and the things that still linger there.
Four seasons. That was what we started with. We knew it would be folk horror. We knew we would each write a story set in spring, summer, winter, or fall. And we knew we wanted original artwork. (Cue a shopping spree at the local art store).
The zine features four stories, written by myself,
, , and , and original artwork by yours truly. I have never undertaken a project like this, and let me tell you, living up to the quality writing in these works pushed me to create something that really captured the spirit of each story.“The Heart of Lovett” by Sean Thomas McDonnell (Spring)
“This Is Midsummer” by EJ Trask (Summer)
“Two Youthful Hands” by Keith Long (Fall)
“The Dead Still Dance” by Shaina Read (Winter)
A Little On Process
The artwork featured are linocut prints. Essentially woodcutting but into softer (and cheaper) linoleum. You carve your image in relief, and the end result is a sort of stamp that you then ink and press. Each of these was a labor of love. An homage to the stories written here.

Much love to all of you! And thank you as always for subscribing, reading, liking, supporting.
I would love an autograph by the authors on mine as well! This is very exciting.
The art is beautiful. I'm always fascinated by woodcuts and how they're done. It certainly takes a different way of looking at the image to make it.
