Shana,

Do you have experience with mentally ill people? The reason I'm asking is that described it so well that I could feel it. I've dealt with people who need help and his step-dad's all scream "Help me."

Again, that damn radio that shouldn't be on.

All in all, this is great.

Thank you Joseph!

I have had experiences with mentally ill people, but none of them were violent like Bob’s father. Some were definitely afraid during psychosis though and the air was electric when I witnessed it. Never knew what to do or what would happen as I was a kid during those times.

Even through a confused and obsessed mind, Bob's father was still a loving father who knew he had to care for his son. That Bob remembers this is maybe a hopeful sign that he can cling to, not a last sparse painful memory of a sick father that feeds his own mania. Such a Twilight Zone worthy story!

This is really powerful.

Especially enjoyed these sentences: "Sticky, wet Christmas bulbs growing larger with each heartbeat. Glass stuck to his shirt, fell in syncopated rhythm to his footfalls as his father walked him forward. This step, and then that."
